During 1958 to 1962, Gary was active in the United States Air Force. Sunshine Builders was a company he owned and operated. Gary was a man of many trades, working for McNeil Construction as project manager, Heery International as Program/Project Manager, Balfour Beatty an International world wide construction company as a Program/Project Director and State of Washington as Quality Assurance Director.
Gary was involved in the Jr. Chamber of Congress (in his younger years), Blues Association, Project Management Institute and was on the planning board commission headed by Chuck Berry of Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. He won multiple awards including governors awards and Washington management and service awards. Hobbies included boating, building and restorations. He enjoyed racing sail boats especially at the Great Lakes ; he had an exciting time working on crews in different places traveling across the nation with the Hydroplanes race boats, hiking, wood carving in which he won multiple awards and expressing his love of God and Country.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Halvor and Alma Larson; and sister Deloris Loomis.
Survivors include wife, Kay Larson; sons, Jeff and Darin; daughters, Tammi, Renee, and Kristi; and numerous grandchildren and (18 great-grandchildren.)
