After living most of her young life in Oroville and Tonasket, she moved to Spokane where she graduated from Rogers High School in the Spokane Valley. During high school she worked at the local theater and that is where she met the love of her life, Clarence R. “Corky” Robison. In 1954 they married in Spokane and later moved to the Olympia area where they raised their three daughters. They were married 47 years before Corky passed away in 2001. She worked for local credit unions in Lacey and Olympia for over 30 years, starting with Teachers’ Credit Union (now Twin Star) in the late 1960’s, then Generations Credit Union, and ended her career at Cosmopolis Credit Union in 2000.
Fran loved being with family and friends. Her home was always open and she welcomed you any time. Many hours were spent around the kitchen table talking, laughing and reminiscing. They owned a cabin at Ocean Shores for many years and loved spending time there, clam digging, entertaining, and relaxing. She loved country music and more often than not, music would be playing at her house rather than the TV on.
She is survived by her daughters Pamala (Gordon) Boyd, Dianna (Kevin) Neiswanger, and Tiffanie (Robert) Maule along with 7 grandchildren, 1 great grandson, 2 sisters, 3 brothers, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family sends love and thanks to Ramel and Grace Dizon, Owners/Providers of Sunrise Adult Family Home and to Cece Rimorin and all the caring staff there. Fran lived in this home for many years when her Alzheimer’s progressed.
There will be a memorial service on Saturday, January 11, 2014, 11 a.m. at Mills & Mills Funeral Home, 5725 Littlerock Rd. SW, Tumwater, Washington. A reception will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or your local/favorite charity.
