Donald E. Samuelson, 91, passed away Friday, September 11, 2020 at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, WA. He was born, September 24, 1928 in Daggett, Michigan to Emanuel and Inez Samuelson.
After graduating, he moved to Washington and joined the National Guard. He married Doris Turner on July 28, 1950. They recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.
He worked for the Washington State Department of Printing as a pressman for 30 years retiring in 1978. In the early 70's he started Country Press and continued printing until a few years ago.
He was an active member of Evergreen Christian Center in Olympia. He enjoyed traveling with his family. In addition, he enjoyed gardening and helping others.
Don is survived by his wife, Doris, Olympia; his children, Kristina Samuelson, Lacey; Sandra and Jim Knox, Broken Arrow, OK; and Douglas and Patty Samuelson, Olympia; Granddaughters Jennifer Haines, Lacey; and Kassandra Henry, Rainier; and Great-Granddaughters Haley Parker, Lacey; and Rowyn Henry, Rainier.
He was preceded in death by his sister Bernice McIntosh and his brothers Reuben and Harold Samuelson.
A private family service will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at Mills & Mills Funeral Home and Memorial Park in Tumwater, WA.
