Dennis grew up on a farm in northwestern Minnesota. Drafted in 1943, he served with the US Army Dept. of Finance, stationed at Ft. Lewis, WA. While there, he met Mary Elinore Roberts and they were married on June 15, 1946. Mary Elinore passed away in June of 2009, giving them 63 loving years together.
Dennis received his BA and MA degrees from Pacific Lutheran College in Tacoma, WA. A passionate advocate for business education, Dennis pioneered teaching via television, delivering one of the first PBS teaching broadcasts in Tacoma. He also served as the State’s Program Director for Business and Office Education and gave generously of his time to several professional educational associations.
Dennis was a kind and multi-talented gentleman who loved his family and friends, enjoyed helping others, traveling, handcrafts and music. He loved serving the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church community where he and Mary were active members for nearly 50 years.
Preceded in death by Mary, his parents and brother Vernon, he is survived by 2 daughters, Karen Bialozor (Longview, WA) and Judy Hall (Wellton, AZ), sons-in-law Dr. Robert Bialozor and Donald “Gunny” Hall, 7 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, brother Hubert Larson, and sisters-in-law Phyllis Braget and Shirley Roley, numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.
A memorial service will be held at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church at 1:30 p.m. on December 10, 2016. His family requests that remembrances be made to the Gloria Dei Endowment Fund, in his memory, c/o Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 1515 Harrison Avenue NW, Olympia, WA 98502 or to the American Parkinson’s Association.
