Dennis Dewey Dunham Sept 14, 1940 to Dec 11, 2012 Born Dennis Dewey Dunham, to Ed and Sylvia (Reeves) Dunham of Toppenish, WA September 14, 1940, Dennis passed away December 11, 2012 in Rancho Mirage, CA with his wife and daughter by his side. Predeceased by his parents and two sisters, Sylvia Doreen Evett and Janice Lang, he is survived by his wife Arlene Dunham, Panorama City; his daughter Deborah Bouis-Dunham and his grandson, Cole Boysen, of Olympia; his son, Gregory Dunham of Ilwaco, Washington; his sister, Joy Dodeward, of Selah, Washington; as well as several nieces and nephews in Eastern Washington and Oregon. Dennis was raised in rural Wapato, WA being active in the Future Farmers of America. Prior to graduating from high school in 1958 he received the honor of State Farmer of the year from FFA. Upon graduation, Dennis enlisted in the US Army and served in Texas, California, and finally South Korea. Following an honorable discharge from the army he returned home to Eastern Washington, where he met Arlene who was to become his wife of nearly 50 years. Dennis found work in Olympia, and he and Arlene were married April 12, 1963. Soon thereafter he took a job with Charles Stickney, CPA. Knowing he needed more education Dennis enrolled in correspondence courses whenever he could. In 1964 he was hired by Moe Loveless of Panorama City, later to become Panorama Corporation. This was to become his lifelong vocation, with service to and for Panorama. Throughout subsequent management changes and directions, Dennis bolstered his business acumen through continued education, community involvement and especially with his personal relationships in the Western Washington business community. He served Panorama Corporation as accountant, secretary-treasurer, chief financial officer and finally as Vice President of Finance. It took him 40 years to retire, but as Dennis said "Not bad for an ol' country boy." Dennis and Arlene were among the founders of Morningside Inc. Dennis was a charter member of Capitol City Lions Club, holding various offices in the Lions organization. Serving as a President of Big Brothers of Olympia, he was instrumental in the starting of their annual golf tournament. Additionally he was a member ofthe Olympia Eagles, Elks, and Indian Summer Golf and Country Club.Dennis was especially vocal about the people that performed the nuts and bolts service (maintenance) for Panorama and his and Arlene's second residence at Desert Braemar in Rancho Mirage, CA., "You got nothing without them" was an often heard comment. Besides that personal mantra, he also shared with all an infectious laugh. Anyone that worked, fished, golfed, bowled, played, travelled, or helped tend to his tomatoes was gifted with that incessant laugh. He was truly a joy! Cremation was arranged by Weaver Funeral Home in Beaumont, CA, and a memorial will be held in Lacey, WA, at a later date this spring. Remembrances should be sent to a charity of choice . Condolence cards can be mailed to: Arlene Dunham 69-850 Hwy 111 Rancho Mirage , CA 92270
