Davey Lee Brown, 83 years old, passed away peacefully at home on January 20, 2015. Davey will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was born in Tacoma, Washington and moved to Littlerock, Washington where he lived for the majority of his life. He was married to the love of his life, Violet Hawkins, for 37 years before her passing.
Davey graduated from Olympia High School and worked for the Northern Pacific Railroad before joining the Navy. Upon being discharged from the Navy he again went to work for the Northern Pacific/Burlington Northern Railroad until his retirement. He spent a few years living in various places before settling down in Littlerock and raising his family. He was an active member in the Littlerock community and was one the founders of the Littlerock District Fire 11 Department. He helped purchase their first fire truck and held several positions, including Assistant Fire Chief, in his 35 years with the department.
Davey enjoyed raising cattle on his small farm along with gardening, fishing, hunting, and camping as often as he could.
Davey was preceded in death by his loving wife Violet and one of his daughters, Thelma Brown. He is survived by a brother Allen Brown, his lovely daughter, Penny (Brown) Scott, and his son Russell Brown along with his six grandkids, Shawn, Tami, Allison, Cassandra, Joey, and Kaitlyn , two great-grandchildren, Evelyn and Sebastian and numerous nieces and nephews.
We will be celebrating his life at Mills & Mills Funeral Home and Memorial Park in Tumwater, Washington on January 27th. Visitation and viewing will be at Mills & Mills Funeral Home at 1:00 pm followed by the Graveside service is at 2:00 pm in the Garden of Pines. Please come dressed in your favorite pair of jeans.
