He grew up in the Olympia area where he raised his family and worked for the family janitorial business until his “retirement” where he started driving truck. Dave was an avid Harley Davidson motorcycle rider, enjoying many trips with his friends and the annual toy run. He collected antique cars and was always working on them. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his Children Shanna Powers, Jennifer (John) Herrin and Preston Smith, Grandchildren Stevie, Hallee, Ben, Rebekah, William, his partner Barb, great grandchildren, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Mabel Smith, and son Dave Edward Smith, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at Mills & Mills Memorial Park on October 26 at 2:00pm located in Tumwater, WA. Visitation will begin at 12:00pm.
Serving as pallbearers are Rolley Powers, Preston Smith, Torian Whetstone, Ben Herrin, Thomas Herrin and John Herrin.
