Carol Jean Zietz was born in Multnomah County, Oregon to Paul & Elizabeth (Betty) Fischer. The family moved early in her childhood to Seattle and she attended school at Holy Rosary Catholic School in West Seattle.
She married Herman Zietz in July 1953 and had six amazing children; Terry, Al, Pauline, Teresa, Don, and Gina who added 15 grandchildren & 14 great-grandchildren to the family.
Carol made a host of lifelong friends from school and her church. She worked at St. Anthony Catholic Church until her retirement then relocated to Ocean Shores to enjoy long walks on the beach and shell collecting. Some of her favorite times were when family would gather at the beach to play and make everlasting memories. Throughout her life she found new ways to serve and care for others, routinely opening her home to friends and family. Her family was the most important aspect of her life and we will never forget the endless years of her devotedly caring for our beloved grandmother (Betty) and our brother, Terry.
Selflessness and generosity were two traits that highlighted her personality and she could often be found volunteering on some project, preparing food to share, holding a baby or watching the little ones. She also thoroughly enjoyed music and always loved to sing, dance, and whistle. We can't neglect to mention her love for maple bars, cashews, and most anything chocolate.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Ron, her sister Mary, and her son Terry.
Always and forever loved and adored, Mom blessed all of our lives with her never ending grace and faith.
