Ann - Anna June Abraham, Due to a short illness, Ann passed away on Friday, July 13, 2018 at Saint Peter Providence hospital, in Olympia Washington. Ann was born on June 30, 1937 in Bowman North Dakota.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents: Julius and Elen Stenbak, 10 siblings, two granddaughters and one great grandson.
Ann is survived by her husband, James Abraham, three daughters, one son, one daughter in-law and one son in-law, and one sister. Ann is also survived by seven grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Ann also enjoyed many lifelong friendships, some lasting over fifty years.
Ann was born into a large family, 12 children; she was the last child having four (4) brothers and seven (7) sisters. Ann married James Abraham on June 14, 1952 in Montana. June 14 was a special day for Ann – first because it was her and Jim’s anniversary day and It is United States Flag Day – which began on June 14, 1777. Ann put her United States flag out for many years and we are sure Jim will follow with this tradition.
When Ann and Jim married, Jim’s family included ten children, three brothers and six sisters. Parents were Albert Abraham and Emma Abraham (later Ragsdale).
Ann worked for Red Top Taxi and Ambulance Services. The Greyhound Bus service was a part of the business, also. Ann would assist customers in planning their trips. She enjoyed this part of her work.
In 1977 Ann became a WA State employee, and retired in 1999. She worked in the Department of Employment Security (ESD) and Department of Social Health Services (DSHS) on Capitol campus and off.
Ann enjoyed her home, family, friends, working on jigsaw and crossword puzzles, garden, flower beds and yard. She would walk miles in her yard mowing the grass, with the walk-behind mower. No riding mower for her!
Over time, Ann and Jim had 10 (ten) dachshunds, which they loved and brought them much enjoyment.
There will be a graveside service at Mills and Mills Funeral Home and Memorial Park.
After the service, family and friends are welcome to come to the home of Jim and Ann for refreshments, for sharing stories with family and friends to reminisce.
