Willie Caesar Bean was born in Egypt MS 1931 to parents Amanda & Omster Bean. Willie grew up in church and dedicated his life to God very early on. He resided in the south until he became a young man and relocated to Chicago, IL. Chicago is where Willie began his legacy. He met and married Catherine Howard (9/9/1956) whom was the love of his life for 60 years and raised two daughters. Willie was sure to impact each person he came into contact with, both young and old. He displays the true definition of “servant hood” in all his engagements. As a community leader and advocate for all people, Willie never tired of teaching, preaching & praying, for everyone around him. While being the front runner of youth activities, home schooling programs, a missionary counselor, and community volunteer, it was Willie’s mission to provide wholesome recreation and social positivity. His service went wherever he lived and moved from Chicago to Tucson AZ in 1978. Willie worked as a Chef by profession and if you ever had a taste you knew it was ambrosial! Willie touched so many over his blessed life of 86 years & became affectionately known as many names; Mr. Bean, Bill, Daddy, Pops, Reverend, Papa, and Uncle Buddy. Whichever he was called, he came running! Willie was always seeking ways to help others and pour himself into a project and his good works did not go unnoticed. He has been a recipient of different awards that range 1967 to 2008. His decades of service gained him accolades from community leaders, the county supervisor, and the Mayor. One of the greatest honors received was the prestigious Jefferson Award. Willie had a will to serve and a heart full of love. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Mary Etta Dyson, and wife, Catherine Bean. Willie is survived by daughters Beverly A. Bean-Simmons (Cleveland Simmons), Sherrell Turner (Stevie Turner), grand-daughters, Michelle Robinson (L.C. Robinson) Tiffany C Turner, Catherria N. Turner (Robert Reid), Amanda L. Fuller (Gilbert Goode III), great grandchildren, Justus Turner, Jada Reid, Prayer Goode and Robinson great grands, along with a host of extended family and friends.
