William John Nigro, Jr. passed away unexpectedly on August 23, 2014 and was welcomed into the arms of Our Savior Jesus Christ. Born in Brooklyn, New York March 23, 1934 to Rose Faruolo Nigro and William Nigro Sr. William had a passion for life along with a smile and personality to brighten anyone's day. A true city boy who possessed many talents during his youth with the boys from Brooklyn; days filled with stickball, kick the can and things that can't be mentioned. A proud Brooklyn Dodger fan who loathed the New York Yankees. An athlete by nature, he excelled in baseball, competitive racing and was an avid outdoorsman. Survived by former wife, Vera Powell; daughters, Lisa and Danielle; grandchildren, David, Andy, Kayleigh, Garrett and Kathleen; along with five great-grandchildren. Though he left too soon, his family will keep his memory alive. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, August 29, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Per William's request, he will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery with his parents in New York City. Arrangements by EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY.
