Wayne Richard “Oley” Olson, 76, went to his heavenly home on April 2nd 2018 after a valiant battle with his illness. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace.
Wayne was born to the late Christine and Robert Olson in Gallitzin PA, both of whom were entrepreneurs. He grew up in Tucson and attended Amphitheater High School where he graduated in 1960. His parents owned an ice cream shop “Dairy Deli,” and then they began their careers as antique dealers. This lead to Wayne and his wife Tina’s love of the antique business, which began their journey of owning their own antique store. It started with a furniture store, which lead to Elegant Junque Shop, then Christine’s Antiques after the passing of his mother. Christine’s Antiques was one of his many passions, as it has been family owned and in Tucson for 58 years. He was a true follower of the Christian faith, worshipping at The Bridge Christian Church East.
Wayne was blessed with a large and loving family. He married his best friend and fellow believer, Christina “Tina” Adams-Olson on November 23rd, 1962. Wayne helped raise his three children with patience, discipline and humility. He taught them the value of hard work and the importance of family values.
Wayne was an educator of antiques at heart. He loved working with his wife and business partner and his sons in the antique business. He was kind and soft-spoken, and always had time to answer a question or solve a problem, no matter how small. He is dearly missed by his loved ones, who celebrate the fact that is at peace with his Creator.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Tina; his sons Scott, Troy, Bobby; his daughter-in-law’s Kimberly Lynn, Kimberly Anne, Tami Jean; his grandchildren Lacey, Leann, Ashlee, Lindsay, Erin, Brice, Megan, Reed, and Bryanna; his mother-in-law Bessie Adams. He is preceded in death by his brothers Gary and Carl; his parents Christine and Robert; his father-in-law Harold.
Wayne will be buried at East Lawn Palms April 7th, 2018 at 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Gospel Rescue Mission.
