Virginia “Ginny” Ann Hernandez, 91, peacefully entered into God’s Kingdom on May 26, 2023. She was born August 27, 1931 in Lakeville, Indiana to Earl Yeagley and Ethel Mangun. Ginny’s mother passed away at a young age and she was raised by her loving stepmother, Evelyn Globe, who was always Mom to Ginny.
Ginny, a devoted mother and grandmother, is survived by 7 children with Lawrence Miel (deceased); Steven (Tommie) Miel, Vicky Miel, Bruce (Brenda) Miel, Stanley (Lucy) Miel, Mark (Kay) Miel, Terry (Lisa) Miel, Peggy Miel (deceased), Jeanne (Rick) Ritchey; and 2 children with Raymond Hernandez (deceased); Adrian Hernandez and Bryon Hernandez; 11 grandchildren, Laura, Danny, Jillian, Jenny, Greg, Jeff, Travis, Eric, Jesse, Josh, and Matthew; 18 great grandchildren, Colton, Quinton, Quade, Nathan, Kaitlin, Kyle, Nickelos, Emma, Lauren, Dimitri, Alexander, Ben, Giada, Logan, Garrett, Kohl, Ava, and Evan; and 2 great great grandchildren Brooke and Nyxon. Ginny was preceded in death by her siblings Earl, Kenneth, Don, Betty, Barbara and Doris and is survived by her youngest sister Linda who resides in Show Low.
Ginny’s love of her children is a lasting legacy. She often said, “I got to live my dream. All I ever wanted to be was a mother.” She adored her children and gave unconditional love. Her happiest times were the times she spent with her children.
Besides her family, Ginny was passionate about bowling, and baking. When she wasn’t at the bowling alley, you’d most likely find her in her kitchen baking her yummy chocolate chip cookies, homemade german chocolate cake or, if it was the holiday season, baking her homemade fudge and Christmas cookies for her family, friends, neighbors, and bowling teammates.
Whatever we call her, mom, grandmother, friend, neighbor, Ginny will be greatly missed but we are grateful for the many years we had with her. We will always feel her presence in our hearts.
Please join us in celebrating her life on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at 2 p.m., United Christian Fellowship Church, 7500 East Golf Links Road, Tucson, AZ 85730.
