Born in Birmingham Alabama, Val Lived in many different states and overseas in Puerto Rico and Japan where she graduated high school in 1973. She moved to Tucson in 1974. Val worked at the Beacon Foundation for a few years while helping to raise her four younger siblings. A devout Christian, Val joined the DMAFB gospel choir. Val loved going to church and to choir practice. After several years at the base she became a member of Grace Temple Baptist Church and sang in the choir as well. Val was a loyal friend to many and a loving daughter, sister and Auntie. Her beautiful smile and sense of humor was a breath of fresh air to all who met and loved her. Val was a shining star and will be sorely missed by her family and friends. Val is survived by her parents, Charles and Mary Brown; brothers, Charles (Joy) Brown, Wayne (Gwen) Brown, David (Shannon) Brown; sisters, Monica Lynn Brown, Greta (Reggie) Edwards, and Terrie Lynn Lance; nephews, Dadlse (Danielle) Brown and Mark Brown; nieces, Aleasha (Josh) Bryant, Natalee Brown, Mary Brown and Chanelle, Annalyse and Jazmin Brown, as well as great nephews and great nieces and a host of family and friends.
