Mayhall, Travis Laster, 84, died on April 20, 2023 at St. Mary’s Hospital of complications due to pneumonia. Born November 18, 1938 in Corinth, Mississippi, Travis was adopted as a precious baby by the late Allen and Fanny Mayhall and nicknamed ‘Buddy.’ He is survived by brother Bobby Hall and preceded in death by siblings Paul and James Hall, Earlene Smith (and brother-in-law, Earl L.) and Elizabeth Barrett (and brother-in-law, Curtis). He was twice blessed in marriage: first to Pamela Douglass Grubb Mayhall (deceased June 28, 1988) and is survived by their loving daughter, Stacey Lynne (partner, Nicole Kearney), and son, David Allen. Travis is survived by his second wife and beloved companion, Jeanne Breese (nee Urschalitz), and was a joyful grandfather to Joey and Amaya (parents Mike and Gemma Breese), and Hudson (parents Steve and Kelly Breese). He graduated from Sunnyside High School in Tucson, completed an Associates Degree in General Studies from Pima Community College, and attended three years at the University of Arizona. Travis was an accomplished artist and widely recognized in Tucson and throughout Arizona. From an early start designing the blue devil mascot for Sunnyside High School, he eventually retired as Head Draftsman from Battle Mountain Gold Company. He painted primarily in watercolors, designed and made silver and gold jewelry and dabbled in bronze sculpting. Most importantly, Travis dearly loved and was loved well by family, friends and community for the beautiful, kind and wonderful man, husband, father, and grandfather he was. His laughter and smile were infectious. His children, stepchildren and grandchildren are grateful for his many teachings of life and love. We especially thank dear friends Camille, Jackie, Sharon Irene, and family, Dee and Linda, for their helpful, loving support of Jeanne and Travis through daunting health challenges. We are grateful to the skilled and dedicated staff at St. Mary’s for their excellent care and thoughtful support for Travis and family during his final days. In recent months, Travis and Jeanne had been enjoying fellowship and worship at Faith Community Church on Orange Grove. On April 19th, Travis asked Jesus to take him home, and on April 20th, He did. A graveside service will take place at 10:30am on May 2nd at East Lawn Cemetery. We will gather at our home after the service.
