Terrance Svoboda was born August 17, 1940, in Cleveland, Ohio. His parents were John and Zeta Weiss Svoboda. He is survived by his sisters Phyllis (Robert Sheldon) and Jackie (Victor Zagorski), aunt, Viola Kohrely, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He married Frances Hanchin in 1971. They were married 48 years until Fran passed October 19, 2019.
Terry started his long career as a paper boy at the age of 11. He was a successful paper boy and won prizes to give to the neighborhood kids. He was loved by the neighborhood.
His career started at the Cleveland News then to the Plain Dealer. He retired as the Circulation Manager after 28 years. He then went to the Sun Newspapers for 11 years and finally gave up the newspaper business at the Lorain Journal at the age of 56.
He then quit the ice and snow and moved to Tucson with Fran in 2000. His sisters then followed Terry to Tucson. Terry was with his sisters at his passing April 10, 2024. His mother died the same day in 1999.
Terry had a full life and died at 83. His career as a paper carrier was fruitful from Paper boy to Circulation Director. He still maintained friendships with his childhood friends from the Old Cleveland Neighborhood. May he rest in peace.
A visitation for Terry will be held Tuesday, April 23, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at East Lawn Palms Mortuary, 5801 East Grant Road, Tucson, AZ 85712. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, April 23, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 5801 East Grant Road, Tucson, AZ 85712. A graveside service will occur Tuesday, April 23, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at East Lawn Palms Mortuary & Cemetery, 5801 E Grant Rd, Tucson, AZ 85712.
