Susan Stowell Hall, 61, of Tucson Arizona passed away peacefully, on July 11, 2016, following an extended illness. Sue was originally from the Midwest, born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on October 26, 1954. She grew up, attending schools in Sterling, Illinois graduating from Sterling High School in 1972. Sue was active in music, swimming, cheerleading and track. She then attended the University of Iowa where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education. Sue married Russell W. Hall on September 17, 1977 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tampico, Illinois.
Sue managed apartments in the Quad Cities Illinois/Iowa area prior to moving to Tucson in 1981. Upon moving to Tucson, Sue worked in the same field with Tucson Realty then later joining friends and working with the Property Management Group. When the couple adopted their son, Tyler, in 1990, Sue “retired” from real estate to devote her energy to her son.
Sue also had many passions. Until her illness she was active in various outreaches at St. Pius Catholic Church. Sue was known to personally help buy clothes, food and sundries for homeless victims as part of her work with the Homeless Outreach when she could. Additionally, Sue had a passion for animals of all types. Sue had a huge heart and reached out to those people and animals who needed help.
Sue is survived by her husband Russ Hall; her son, Tyler both in Tucson; her mother, Dorothy Eilert Stowell; brother, Cal (Jennifer); nephews, Cal Jr., and Daniel; niece, Lily in Atlanta; brother in law, Jim in Rockford, Illinois and sister in law, Theresa in Oskaloosa, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her father, Calvin Stowell.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Pius Catholic Church on the evening of August 26, at 6pm. St. Pius is located at 1800 N. Camino Pio Decimo, 85715.
