Susan Jane Denton

Susan was born on July 1, 1936 in Dallas, TX to her parents, Neal and Faye Neece. She married Nick in Denton in 1957. She graduated from ASU with a BA in Elementary Education and got her Masters from the U of A. She was a dedicated teacher for 30 years, doing the majority of her teaching at Liberty Elementary School. She spent her retirement traveling, golfing, and enjoying her family. Her children remember her as a kind and generous mother, wife, and grandmother. Nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her family and friends. She led an active social life and was a longtime member of the Lambda Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International. She enjoyed dancing, music, good wine, and having the house filled with family around the holidays. Susan is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, DeEtte and Derek Carlson; her son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Sharon Denton; four grandchildren and one great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her husband, Nick, in November of 2014. Susan will be remembered on March 23, 2016 at 10 AM at East Lawn Palms Mortuary and Cemetery at 5801E. Grant Road.
