Steven Adams passed away peacefully at his home in Tucson, Arizona, on December 15, 2024. He was born on October 14, 1950, in Dayton, Ohio, and moved to Arizona while in junior high school. He graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in English Literature.
Steven had a deep love for the high country of Colorado and worked as a ski patrolman in Aspen during his younger years. However, his true passion was art; he enjoyed painting with pastels, watercolors, and oils. He studied at the Tucson Art Institute and the Tucson Museum of Art, where he was a student of Gail Marcus-Orlen for many years. Additionally, he was a member of the Disabled Artists Association of Tucson. Steven will always be remembered for his warm smile and sharp sense of humor.
He is survived by his brothers, Mark (Monica) and Bruce (Wendy), as well as his nieces and nephews: Amy, Brian, David, Chance, and Julia. He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Boyd Adams; his mother, Louise Crafts Adams; and his brother, Dr. David Adams. His longtime friend, Lora Morrow, was by his side at the time of his passing.
The family would like to extend special thanks to his guardian and friend, Brenda Wilson, as well as Deborah and all the caregivers at CCS who supported him through the years.
A memorial service for Steven will be held on January 8, 2025, inside the East Lawn Palms Mortuary chapel at 5801 E. Grant Rd. Tucson, Arizona at 11:00 AM.
