Sheldon Kit Larson
August 24, 1943 - May 25, 2013
Sheldon Kit Larson, 69, of Tucson, died May 25, 2013 of complications of COPD. During his last days he was surrounded by loving family. His wife and daughters were by his side as he passed over into paradise.
He was born August 24, 1943 in San Rafael, California to Earl and Phyllis Larson. Soon after his birth, Sheldon’s family moved back to South Dakota where he lived until he moved to Tucson with his grandparents in the late 60’s. Sheldon married Nancy Moffitt on September 15, 1967 in Tucson, Arizona. Prior to marrying Nancy he worked for the Duval mine. Due to the economy he was laid off and soon started a career in carpentry and then plumbing. With help from family and friends he built his own home where he lived for over 33 years.
Sheldon is survived by his loving wife Nancy of 45 plus years and his three daughters: Karen (Steven) Rogers and their three children Daniel, Robert, and Bernt; Ronda (Coleman) Grendell-Larson and their four children Jaclyn, William, Madison, and Wyatt; Sheryl (Lee) Human and their three children Troy, Haley and Evan. Sheldon also has one great-grandson Aidan. In addition Sheldon has numerous nieces and nephews.
Sheldon was one of ten children. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Richard and twin sister Sharon. He has four living brothers; Dayton, Joel, John, and Brent; three sisters; Sandra, Suzie and Annette.
Memorial service was held at 1 pm Monday, May 27, at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church of Tucson. The family would like to express their love and appreciation to all who attended the memorial to celebrate Sheldon’s life.
