Beloved Wife, Mother and Grandmother
Sharon Evans freestone age 80 lost her battle with thyroid cancer on July 12, 2016 in Tucson, AZ. She was born March 3, 1936 in Bowling Green Twp., Fayette County, Illinois to James H. and Alma (Beck) Evans and grew up in Clinton, Illinois.
Sharon and Charles R. Freestone were married in Clinton, IL on 20, June 1959.
Sharon graduate from Clinton Community High School, Western Illinois University and taught Physical education for two years. After several years as a stay at home mother, she renewed her teaching certificate and was a substitute teacher in the Jefferson County, Colorado school system.
The family has lived in Northern Illinois, Denver, Seattle and for the past 34 years, Tucson, AZ.
She loved her family and spending time with them. She and Charles enjoyed hiking in the mountains of Colorado, Washington and Arizona. Her other interests included cooking, especially baking cookies, reading and genealogy.
Sharon is predeceased in death by her parents, two infant brothers James Lyle and George William and daughter Lisa Freestone Ossiander.
She is survived by Charles her husband of 57 years, son Scott both of Tucson, grandchildren Kim Ossiander of Siatama University, Japan and ET2 J.T. Ossiander US Coast Guard, sister-in-law Deanna Schlink of Crown Point, IN, nieces Karen (Douglas) green, Sue (David) O’Drobinak and her family.
Sharon’s family gratefully thanks the kind and helpful staff of the TMC Hospice.
At her request a private graveside service will be held at East Lawn Palms, Tucson, AZ.
