Robert R Stewart (93) passed away peacefully in his home on September 25, 2024.
Born June 10, 1931 in Cambridge, MA to Robert M. Stewart and Ethel G. Stewart. He was appointed to the United States Military Academy at West Point by John F. Kennedy and served in both Korean and Vietnam wars before retiring from the U.S. ARMY after 21 years. He built his dream home in the Catalina foothills of Tucson, where he lived a rich, full life watching his family grow. He was a loyal Red Sox fan, loved his animals, watching his birds, and listening to the music of his era. Survived by his wife, Jean, of 70 years; his children James Stewart (Mary), Sharon Zaher, Kathleen Scheppe (Dave), Mark Stewart (Vonnie), Cynthia Cartwright (Daniel); 8 Grandchildren, and 9 Great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his son Robert M. Stewart II. Funeral service will be held October 3, 2024 at East Lawn Palms, 5801 East Grant Road at 11:00AM. Burial to follow at East Lawn Palms Cemetery.
