Robert "Bob" Clinton Shrader, age 89, of Tucson, Arizona passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2023. Bob was born in 1933 in Port Chicago, California, to Homer Witlatch and Mary Work, and was raised by Mary and his step-father Lyle H. Shrader, all of whom have preceded him in passing.
Bob met and married the love of his life, Donalene Shrader, who survives him and with whom he spent 68 years happily married. Bob was the patriarch of a large and loving family, and is further survived by: his children Dale (Larry) Rounsaville, Virginia (Frank) Retes, Robert "Bobby" (Cyndi) Shrader, and Leanard Stein (estranged); his grandchildren Cher (Chris) Lockwood, Seleana (Chris) Kleparek, Bahiyyih (Greg) Morone, David Retes, Shannan Shrader, Jeremy Stein, and Jason Stein; his great-grandchildren Joseph, Paige, Trent, Jacob, Robert, Hailee, Rissa, and Tessa.
Bob began his career in the Air Force, and after serving entered the Air Force National Guard where he attained the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. He dedicated many years to service for his country and eventually retired from this position. He worked as well in his later years with Simulated Nature, and Beaudry RV.
Bob had a natural love of the outdoors, and channeled this passion into hunting, camping, participating in a 4H club. He also took pleasure in extensive traveling with his beloved wife. Together, Bob and Donalene traversed the United States, seeing and experiencing all they could. Bob further enjoyed square dancing, and showed his adventurous side in a penchant for water-skiing. He was an avid bowler, and a member for the Traveling Bowling League, and the Local Bowling League.
Bob's memory will be cherished in the hearts of his loving family and many friends, and he will be remembered for his noble service to his country. Bob will be dearly missed.
A funeral service for Robert will be held Thursday, April 27, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Funeraria del Angel South Lawn, 5401 South Park Ave, Tucson, AZ 85706. Following the funeral service will be a graveside service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at South Lawn Cemetery, 5401 South Park Ave, Tucson, AZ 85706.
