Robert (Bob) L. Hyde, Jr. was born on December 28, 1953 in Vallejo, CA to Robert L. Hyde Sr. and Kathleen Hyten Hyde. As a child, he lived in Anaheim, CA, St. Petersburg and Clearwater, FL., and Tucson, AZ. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1974 to 1981, where he worked as an electricians mate on the nuclear submarine U.S.S. George C. Marshall. After his service in the Navy, he lived in Garland, TX and Tucson, AZ. He earned his master's degree at University of Texas and his MBA at the University of Arizona. He worked in many occupations, including as a mail carrier with the U.S. Postal Service (1982-1989), a service representative with Social Security Admimistration (1994-1997), a real estate agent with Coldwell Banker (1998-2004), an adjunct instructor at Pima College (2001-2017), and as co-owner of Tucson Gift Gallery on 4th Ave (2006-2016).
Some of his favorite hobbies included teaching, meeting new people, taking road trips, and shooting darts.
He is survived by his wife Sherry and daughter Erin.
A celebration of life service will be held on February 1, 2020 from 1pm to 4pm at VFW post 4903.
