Richard was born on April 24, 1989, in San Dimas, CA to Richard C. Olson II and Elaine Olson. As a child, Richard was a Cub Scout and played Roller Hockey for four years in Chino Hills. In high school, he played football for the Chino Hills Huskies for two years. In 2005, he moved to Lodi with his family where he graduated from Tokay High School on June, 15, 2007. After graduation, he attended Sacramento State University, where he studied Geology. On February 25, 2018, Richard married Crystal Dawn Muller from Sonoita, AZ. They settled down and purchased a home in Tucson, AZ, where Richard was employed by GEICO for four years.
Richard had many passions. At one point, he hoped to join and serve in the military like his paternal grandfather. He enjoyed studying information about military history, and collected and bought many different types of guns and swords. He also was an avid reader and music lover and enjoyed playing the guitar. He would play whenever his wife was busy with her artwork. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed water-skiing, fishing, and riding on his dad's boat. Richard had a huge soft spot for animals. He loved and cared for all of his pets, especially his dogs, but also loved Crystal's cats, as well— he nicknamed her oldest ‘Snickers’. He enjoyed collecting exotic snakes from the time when he worked at The Serpentarium. At one point, both he and Crystal owned eight snakes.
Richard will always be known for his quick wit and his friendly banter with family and friends. He had an infectious smile that would brighten anyone’s day. He was a truly kind and caring soul. He will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved him.
