Rick was born on May 3, 1958, to Victor and Catherine (Reynolds) Myer in Park Ridge, IL. He attended the University of Arizona, where he graduated with a degree in information systems management. At the University of Arizona, Rick was a member of the Alpha Kappa Lambda fraternity and was a life-long fan of the Arizona Wildcats Basketball Team. Rick also received an MBA and an M.S. degree in the management of information systems from the University of Pittsburgh. He worked as a Database Administrator for the Pima County Juvenile Court System. Rick was an avid bicyclist, a gifted photographer, an original Trekker, and a voracious reader with a love of Mexican archeology, science fiction, biographies, and all things WWII.
Rick is survived by his sister Terrell A. Myer Widmann and her husband Larry Widmann of Sumner, Washington, and his brother Douglas R. Myer and his wife Diane Fordney of Tucson. He was also a very proud and beloved uncle to Larry, Jack, Mindy, Joe and Rachel, as well as to his eight grand-nieces and nephews.
Public visitation will be held at Funeraria del Angel South Lawn Mortuary and Cemetery on Wednesday, December 20th at 5:00 pm, followed by a memorial at 6:00 pm, and a light reception.
