Raymond (Ray) Lamont Jackson was born to the late Lucius Jackson and Irene West on December 13, 1942 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Raymond attended Philadelphia’s Catholic and Public-School Systems and graduated from Dobbins Vocational High School.
In 1967, Raymond began diligently working for the City of Philadelphia with the Department of Streets in various employment positions, Truck Driver, Heavy Equipment Operator, Interim Foreman, etc. Due to health reasons, Ray was granted early retirement in August 1992 with full benefits to continue to maintain a good quality of life.
In 1978, Raymond met his “Soul-Mate” Jessie Lorraine Robinson. They later were married by Pastor Theodore Johnson of Harambe Baptist Church, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. From their union, God bless them with their daughter Rana Laverne, and their two sons Martin Luther and Thomas Anthony. Raymond has always been a very loving, kind, congenial, understand, considerate, respectful, and genuine lover and friend to me (his wife) and all those he knew. He was a BLESSING AND A MAN OF GOD!
In 1990, Raymond accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. He later was Baptized by Pastor Samuel Washington of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
Throughout Ray’s Christian Walk, he enjoyed being a Servant of the Lord. Ray was involved with The Gideons and Bible Distribution, KAIROS Prison Ministry, Promise Keepers, Bible Study Fellowship (BSF), Yoke Fellowship Prison Ministry, and other various Ministries in his local church.
In 1998, Raymond moved his family to Tucson Arizona where he continued to be in the service of our Lord. Raymond and Jessie first attended Trinity Missionary Baptist Church under Pastor E.J. McDowell. It was a blessing for Trinity to open their Doors on Sunday evenings because Jessie worked on Sunday mornings for a time. Raymond and Jessie then transitioned and joined with Living Water Ministries in 2000. Under the leadership of Apostle Warren Anderson Jr., Raymond was ordained as a Deacon where he wholeheartedly provided service and care to those in the Church and outside Street Ministry. Raymond was also active in the Men’s Ministry, Greeter, and Transportation Ministry. Raymond and Jessie also fellowshipped for a brief time with Rising Start Missionary Baptist Church under Pastor Amos L. Lewis, and then reunited with Living Water Ministries.
In addition, Raymond had a heart for mentoring and caring for children, especially at-risk youth. Raymond and Jessie both took on the Ministry of Caring for Children and Youth who were placed in Foster Care. Ray continued to devote his love, time, and talents to the children until he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Dementia in 2016. At that time in the best interest of the children, Raymond retired from the Ministry of Caring for Children and Youth in the home. God knows, Raymond has touched the lives of so many.
On April 10, 2021 Raymond’s life and time on this Earth came to an end. He went home to be with Father God, and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He is now in Heaven with Jehovah God and some of his family loved ones and friends who had gone before him. I believe there is much rejoicing, praising, and celebrating that a true child of the King has entered through the Pearly Gates of Heaven.

A DEDICATION TO MY HUSBAND RAYMOND (RAY) LAMONT JACKSON
To God our Father: “Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart,
be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.”
(Psalm 19:14 KJV)
To My Husband Ray, THANK YOU for being on this life journey with me. Thank you for your obedience to do it God’s way. We can praise God for bringing us out of the world’s darkness and our years of a God-centered marriage. Thank you, Ray, and bless you for your loving kindness toward me in all my endeavors.
I thank God that we have experienced God’s love, grace, mercy, and His goodness together. We have gone through some rough patches but we both knew that God was and continues to be with us. God did not forsake us; He brought us over, under, around, and through our moments of testing, troubles, and trial. We always had His assurance through Jesus Christ of love, blessings, and strength to make it through a day-at-a time.
We are walking out God’s will and plans for our lives. We know just how far and from where God has brought us and even when we have stumbled, only God kept us from falling.
Many people measure success by the physical and or material things that they have and the people they may know. Without a doubt, we know and understand that our success is spiritual and comes from knowing JESUS!
We have come to learn about who God is and we have come to love God, who loves us with an EVERLASTING LOVE! We are living a pleasing and spiritually blameless life through the will of God our Father. We have Jesus Christ who is our Redeemer and the Holy Spirit who is our Guide while on this earth together.
Raymond, you now have received your Ultimate Healing and Redemption, and you are now with our Lord and Savior. God has blessed you Ray Jackson beyond measure.
Ray, I will always love you with an everlasting love. I am so grateful and thankful that God has allowed us to be together as loving martial partners, loving best friends, and His loving children. I am going to missed you so deeply, but I know that we will be together again, when I come Home to Heaven. It is all about knowing and accepting Jesus Christ as your Personal Savior…WE WIN! Amen
