Phil was born on October 11, 1945 in Baltimore, MD to John C. and Edna Doris Bennett (née Brown). Phil was a pioneer in early coding and enjoyed a long career in database administration. He was an expert gardener; creator of amazing desserts; grilling master; and loved all things science fiction.
Phil is survived by his step brother Roy, daughter Jennifer Uhrlaub, daughter Christine Newkirk and her husband William, as well as his four grandchildren, Finnley, Elsie, Declan, and Amelia.
He is preceded in death by father John, step father Roy Bopst, mother Doris, and brother Richard "Dick" Bennett.
A memorial service will be held on the East Coast in the spring of 2023. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in honor of Phil to one the foundations listed below.
