Pete Rios Palomino
Pete Rios Palomino was born October 15th, 1930 and passed away peacefully on October 19th, 2018 in Tucson, AZ. Preceded by his wife Natalia Lopez Palomino, who he shared 59 years of marriage prior to her passing in 2013. Mr. Palomino was blessed with three children; Sylvestre (Carol) Palomino, Juliana (Gene) Don, and Miguel Palomino, who concluded his life prior to his fathers.Mr. Palomino was fortunate to share his life with his four grandchildren; Nicole Abrams, Anthony (Kate) Gerrettie, Natalie (Elliott) Sarkisan, and Zachary Palomino. Additionally, Mr. Palomino is survived by two great grandchildren, Mariah Abrams and Norah Gerrettie.
Born in Thatcher, AZ, he was the oldest of 12 children, (four brothers and seven sisters). Mr. Palomino proudly served his country as a Combat Medic in the Korean War. During his service, he bravely fought in the Battle of Pork Chop Hill, earning him a Purple Heart, as he was only one of 13 survivors. After his discharge, Mr. Palomino returned to Safford, AZ, marrying the love of his Natalia, on October 10th, 1953. Once married, the couple moved to Tucson, AZ, where he worked at the Veterans Hospital as a Surgical Scrub Technician. Mr. Palomino is remembered as a quiet, but humble man who will be deeply missed by all.
A Visitation for Mr. Palomino will be held at Funeraria Del Angel South Lawn, 5401 S. Park Avenue on October 26th, 2018 at 2:30 pm. A Rosary and Service will follow at 3:00 pm.
