Paul R Flores, 77, went home to be with our Heavenly Father and his loving wife Amelia “Molly” Flores on July 3, 2018. He passed away in his family home in Tucson, Arizona. Paul was born in Hallettsville, Texas on August 13, 1940 to Juan and Celestina Flores. He was raised by his dear aunt, Marth Lira, along with his sister, Helen Rodriguez. He married his late wife Molly at the young age of 17. He raised money for their wedding rings by cutting grass and pulling weeds for neighbors. They shared 56 special years by each other’s side. Paul was man of many accomplishments. He and Molly made the move to California where he began his career in the United States Marine Corps and started a family. He proudly served his country in the Vietnam War. In 1974, he moved his family to Tucson where he continues his military career in the recruiting department. He finished his 24 years of service with the rank of Master Gunnery Sergeant. After his retirement with the military he worked as an advisor for Pima Community college for 2 years. He then joined the Pima county Sheriff’s Department as a corrections officer for 13 years. Paul made many friends along the way. He always had a ‘cool one’ on hand for anyone stopped by for a visit. He always looked forward to catching up with old friends and family back home. Paul never failed to bring a smile to anyone’s face with his quirky humor. His grandchildren were his pride and joy, never missing a sporting event or school function. He will be dearly missed but his smile will live on in the hearts of the lives he touched. Survived by his sister Helen, daughter Judy (Wayne), son Paul (Tammy). Grandchildren; J.P. (Natasha), Sarah, David, Amariah, Adrianna, Ciera and Michael. Greatgrandchildren; Sienna, Riley, A.J., Nathanael and Gabriel. Preceded in death by parents, Juan and Celestina, aunt Martha and wife Amelia “Molly”. His family thans you for your condolences and prayers. A Memorial service will be held on Sunday July 22nd at 5 pm, at East Lawn Palms Mortuary, 5801 E Grant Rd. with a reception to follow.
