Patrick was born on August 19, 1970 in Toledo, Ohio. He was the first child of three to F. Kurt and Anne (Knapp) Gessner. He graduated from Monroe Catholic Central in 1988, and later graduated from Henry Ford Community College with his Associates Degree. He married his loving wife, Tammy, in July of 2017. Patrick made a living working as a Welder for Cleveland-Cliffs, formerly AK Steel, until he left May of 2022 when he fulfilled his lifelong dream of moving to Tucson, AZ.
When Patrick wasn’t working, he loved to have fun whether it was looking into the idea of life outside our planet, cooking gourmet meals with his wife, or playing the piano for any and all to listen, which for those who didn’t know he could play any song by ear. Other time spent would be performing magic tricks for his family, even though he’d get surprised when his tricks were found out. He loved his dogs Merlin and Liam, and his cat Lucy. Patrick loved taking vacations with his family whether it was only a few hours north to the cabin, all the way to Tucson, or anywhere in between.
Patrick followed in his father’s footsteps and has been a member of the Knights of Columbus (local Monroe 1266) since he was eighteen years old. His talent for piano was shown throughout the years during his time within several bands.
Patrick was predeceased by his parents Frank “Kurt” Gessner and Anne Mary (Knapp) Gessner.
Patrick leaves behind his wife Tammy Joy (Timmons) Gessner of Tucson. Patrick is also survived by: his siblings Michelle Anne Gessner of Monroe, and Kurt Michael Gessner of Monroe, his daughters Katherine Anne Gessner of Toledo, Brandy Hacker of South Rockwood, and Holly (Kenneth) Joslyn of Newport, and his grandkids Christion Olinger, Iyanna Olinger, Evan Vann, Erin Joslyn, Davina Joslyn, Kira Orcutt, James Orcutt, and Lennon Orcutt.
