Nathaniel E Mitchell Jr.

Nathaniel was also a serial entrepreneur and lifelong resident of Tucson, Arizona. Nathan is survived by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brother, sister, stepfather, as well as several cousins, great aunts and uncle’s.

Nathaniel was born September 8 of 1954 in Lawton, Oklahoma to Nathaniel E Mitchell Sr and Blanche Gray.

Nathan married his wife Katie at the age of 20 years old. Nathan and Katie were married for over 42 years until her death January 13, 2017.

Nathan held an associates degree in business, a bachelors degree in sociology and a bachelors degree in criminology from the university of Arizona.

Nathan enjoyed a good laugh, spending time with his wife and bestie, his children, his grandchildren, his great grandchildren, creating business ideas and studying the Word of God.

Nathan lived a life of vision even though he was legally blind for over 41 years. His life was full of uncharted territory, insurmountable exploits, and endless pursuit of creativity. The word “No” was not in his vocabulary. With his wife Katie by his side, he created several successful small businesses and inventions.

Nathan has enjoyed such successes as singing along side Gospel greats like The Blind Boys of Alabama and being listed on the Gospel Stellar Awards top 13 hit list with his hit single ”Unchanging Hands.”

Nathan’s laugh and savvy sense of humor will be missed deeply. His life was a beautifully woven tapestry of success, victory, sacrifice, defeat, heartache, grace, mercy, triumph, compassion and love. He truly lived Romans Romans 7:21-22, 25.

Nathan’s viewing will be held at Funeraria Del Angel University located at 7 East University Blvd. Tucson, AZ 85705 on Friday, June 26 at 1 PM (Due to COVID-19 regulations the viewing is limited to 10 people) He’s viewing will also be live streamed For those who cannot attend. Nathaniel‘s viewing is a time of love, remembrance and loving last words.
