

Nanie Monroe Brown, 94, of Tucson Arizona, passed away on June 27, 2024. She was born on August 4,1929 to Cornelius Monroe & Georgianna Monroe in Fayetteville, North Carolina. She married CPL Willie Brown Jr. on May 13,1954 and had 2 children Willie Anthony Brown III, Paulette Brown, and adopted Linda Lujan. Nanie worked in the food industry and retired from Piccadilly Cafeteria. She enjoyed volunteering at the Red Cross, which all began in Mannheim, Germany where she received honorary stripes for over 300 volunteer hours. As a military spouse of a retired Army veteran, she heard about the need for volunteers at the local VA in Tucson, Arizona and without hesitation began to volunteer once again, dedicating her time whenever needed. She loved to Lord with all her heart and attended Palo Verde Church of Christ where she met an amazing group of individuals who shared their love for the Lord as well. She enjoyed helping others whenever needed, always brought out the best in others and always managed to find the good in people.
Nanie created unforgettable memories throughout her years with those near and dear to her. She always put her family first! Every moment spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren brought her so much joy. She was an amazing daughter, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.
A long time resident of Tucson Arizona, she is survived by her son, Willie Anthony Brown III; daughter-in-law, Naome J. Brown; 3 grandchildren, Willie Anthony Brown IV, Joel Jamile Brown and Ava Mykala Brown and 1 great grandchild, Teyvion Jamar Brown.
Her body will be buried next to her beloved husband, but her soul is celebrating with him together forever in heaven.
