Nadeen O. Montez, 89, entered eternal life on Saturday, June 24, 2023, in an unfortunate car accident. Although this is not the way we envisioned her leaving us, Nadeen did not suffer and was ready to be with the Lord. Nadeen was born on August 26, 1934, in Nogales, Arizona, and is preceded in death by her parents, Lauriano (Larry) G. and Emeline K. Olivar, and great-granddaughter, Danitza Cordova.
Nadeen is survived by her two brothers, Larry (Anarinda) Jr., and Gene Olivar, seven children, Barbara (Rene) Valenzuela, Bobby Montez (Curtis), Cecilia (Bobby) Espinoza, Yolanda (Buddy) Lozano, Maria Armenta, Nadeen Davis, and Jeana (Leonard) Salazar, 16 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren.
After raising her children, Nadeen began her career with Tucson Electric Power from October 27, 1973, until she retired on September 1, 1996. Nadeen’s true career and love was serving the Lord and her church St. Monica’s. She touched many lives through her work as the CCD coordinator, youth group leader, Eucharistic and Lector Coordinator, and so many other functions and activities at church.
Nadeen was known to many as the sweet lady from church with that infectious smile. She had a spirited personality, was very social, and loved to dance. She loved being around her grandkids and especially the great grandkids.
We are all so lucky and blessed to have had her in our lives as long as we did. Her memory will be honored on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at St. Augustine’s Cathedral, located at 192 S. Stone Ave beginning at 9:00 a.m.; Rosary 9:30 a.m.; Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. The inurnment service will be for immediate family and will take place at a different date and time. She will, however be laid to rest at South Lawn Cemetery.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.funerariadelangelSL.com for the Montez family.
