Mona Elaine Ashley

Mona Ashley Went to be with her Lord on Friday, October 8, 2010 in Tucson, Arizona. She was 95 years old. She was preceded in death in 1987 by her devoted husband of 51 years, Morris Ashley. She was a loving mother to Elaine (Kermit) and Dan (Linda); grandmother to Danette (Pat) and Pam; Jeremy, Rebecca, and Kelly Simmons; great- grandmother to Daniel, Rachel, and Lisa; aunt to several nieces and nephews. Mona was born and raised in Teague, Texas on May 22, 1915. She was the 12th of 14 children. She married Morris Ashley on August 26, 1936 and was a diligent railroad wife. Her love for the Lord and her family were central in her life. She was very proud of being a charter member of Bethel Community Baptist Church where she served for over 60 years. Mom, Gram, GeGe, you will always be in our thoughts and prayers until we meet again. Family will greet friends at Visitation from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 11, 2010 at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY, 5801 E. Grant Rd. The Funeral will be held at Bethel Community Baptist Church, 446 S. Plumer on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at 11:00 a.m., with Visitation one hour prior at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at South Lawn Cemetery, Tucson, Arizona.
