Mary Ruth Peevy

Mary Ruth Peevy, 77, of Tucson Arizona passed away March 12th, 2023, surrounded by loving family. She was born in 1945 in Norristown, PA, to Harry Anderson Sr. and Ruth Anderson, both of whom preceded her in passing. Mary was one of three children born to Harry and Ruth; she is further preceded in passing by her brother Harry Anderson Jr. and she is survived by her sister Carol Maynard (Anderson).

Mary is further survived by her beloved partner of many years, Emanuel Morris Peevy. Together, they raised two sons who continue to survive their mother, Emanuel Morris Peevy Jr., and Mark Peevy. Mary was blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, the matriarch of a large and loving family. Her grandchildren Jamison Scott Peevy, David Wayne Peevy, Mathew James Peevy, and Courtney Ann Peevy survive her, as do her great-grandchildren Addison Peevy, Delaney Peevy, Olivia Ruth Peevy, and Maverick James Peevy.

Mary is fondly remembered as a simple woman, gentle in her ways and someone who appreciated the little things. She loved to crochet, and would make blankets for her home to keep her loved ones warm. Mary delighted in having her hair and nails done weekly, and never allowed herself to be photographed unless every hair was in place. She loved her cats, Mugsy and Rusty, and kept a special place in her heart for all animals. Above all else, Mary's passion was for her family; she wanted for nothing but to spend as much time as possible with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Mary worked for 35 years as a bookkeeper and clerk for Walgreens. In her retirement, she became a full-time homemaker and housewife.

Mary's memory will be cherished in the hearts of all those who had the pleasure to share her company. She will be deeply mourned and dearly missed by her family and friends.
