Mary G. Martinez

Mary “Betty” Martinez was born in George West, Texas and was the daughter of Willie Mae and Desiderio Cuevas. She grew up in Mathis, Texas with her brothers and sisters. She married Julio Martinez on 6/6/1954 and moved to Arizona in 1961.

Betty was a God-fearing Christian woman. She imparted to her children the importance of God in their lives and she shared Jesus Christ with all who knew her.

She was never judgmental and always kind when giving advice. Betty was compassionate and freely gave her love and support to all. She was welcoming and never turned anyone away regardless of their circumstances.

She enjoyed the outdoors and gardening. She had a green thumb and many beautiful plants. Betty liked coffee, sweets and a clean house. She loved good conversation and meeting people.

Betty had a wonderful sense of humor and a beautiful smile. She cherished her family and her friends. She was a great Mom, Nana, Sister, Tia and Friend. She will be missed greatly by all.

Preceded in death by husband Julio Martinez, daughter Marylou Vega, son Ruben Martinez and daughter-in-law Priscilla Martinez. Survived by Sister Ester Joynes, children: (Valentin Vega), Betty Guera Martinez, Lydia (Mario) Miranda, Rudy Martinez, Julio Jr (Michelle) Martinez, Rene (Delilah) Martinez, Debbie (Jeremy) Collins, Malisa (Jeffery) Arsola, 26 Grandchildren, 28 Great Grandchildren & 2 Great Great Grandchildren
