Mary Jane was born on April 4, 1944 in Sioux City, IA to her parents, Lyle and Prudence Farber. The family moved to Wilmington, Ca where she eventually graduated from Banning High School in 1963. She married the love of her life Gilbert Chavez on September 11, 1965. The Chavez’s lived in Wilmington, CA, where Gilbert worked at American Can Company and Mary Jane worked at Spring Retirement home as a head housekeeper. She retired in 2002 and dedicated her remaining time to educating and caring for her grandchildren.
Mary Jane is survived by her two daughters, Tina Marie Encinas (Gilbert), and Danielle Lorraine Ruelas (Esteban); six grandchildren, Alysia, Gilbert, Gabriel, Stevie, Natalie, and Anayehli; And two great-granddaughters, Annalicia and Luz. She is preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert; her parents Lyle and Prudence and her brothers, Lyle, Rex, and Robert.
Mary Jane will be buried in a private ceremony on April 8, 2020.
