

Mark Edward Behrens was born on October 25, 1959 in Sioux City, IA and died unexpectedly on July 12, 2011. He is survived by Lark his wife of 25 years; his two daughters, Alexandra (Alex) and Danielle (Dani). Also surviving are his father, Loren Behrens of Columbia, MO; his sisters, Pat (Mark) Jacobs of Bettendorf, IA, Jan (Tom) O'Neal of Columbia, MO, Kay (John) Rickwa of Lenexa, KS and brother, George Behrens of Tucson, AZ. Mark was preceded in death by his mother, Alice Behrens. Mark was a proud, amazing, considerate father, and an excellent and very romantic husband. He was also a very loving son, a wonderful brother, and a great friend. He will be missed but not forgotten by all who knew him. Mark graduated from South Dakota School of Mines and served proudly in the Army ROTC while he attended college. He was honorably discharged as a 1st Lieutenant from the Army National Guard. Mark was a widely respected Engineer with Hughes Aircraft/Raytheon Company for over 27 years here in Tucson. He was the Software Development lead for the Enhance Automated Graphical Logistics Environment (EAGLE) team. Mark was recognized by Raytheon as a Principle Software Engineer with Honors for his outstanding technical contributions. He holds two patents related to the Eagle software tool. Mark will be dearly missed and the loss of his friendly/helpful manner will be felt daily by his colleagues and the many customers around the world he supported. A military funeral ceremony and final commitment service will be held at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY AND CEMETERY at 5801 E. Grant Rd, Tucson, AZ. Visitation will commence at 8:30 a.m. and services start at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 19, 2011.
