Marjorie Opal "Marge" Maloney born May 22, 1922 in Climbing Hill, Iowa, passed away February 21, 2010 in Tucson, Arizona. Preceded by husband, Major Patrick Eldon Thomas Maloney (US Army Ret.) and son, Randy Scott Maloney. She is survived by daughter, Carolyn Ann "Lyn" Hooten (Clyde); sons, Thomas Leroy Maloney (Cheryl) and Michael Maloney (Janet); seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, a number of nieces and nephews, a sister-in-law and many wonderful friends. As a military officer's wife, Marge traveled the world and the US making homes for her family, settling in Tucson in 1959. An accomplished hostess, she delighted in entertaining friends and family. She enjoyed Bridge and other card games, patiently teaching them to the new generation of children in the family. Sewing, gardening, dancing, music, casino hopping, March Madness and UofA sports rounded out her list of favorite activities. A strong will and positive attitude enabled her to overcome both lifelong diabetic issues and breast cancer. For years she volunteered at the Cancer Discovery Shop. The lives she touched were better for the experience. Saying she will be missed is an understatement. Friends are invited to Memorial Services Saturday, March 20, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. in the EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5801 East Grant Road, Tucson, AZ.
