Mariana F Montoya

In remembrance of our beloved mother, who passed away at the age of 92. Despite only attending school until the second grade, she embarked on a remarkable journey of self-education, mastering both English and Spanish literacy. Her determination knew no bounds, as evidenced by her graduation from Bible School College in her 80s.

Her life was a testament to her unwavering work ethic and her profound devotion to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She poured her heart and soul into her church and her ministry within correctional facilities, steadfastly sharing the message of God's love.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Luis Rafael Montoya Sr., (69), her son Andrew Carrera (61), granddaughters Tonya Barns (40) and Celena Rene Naranjo (38), and grandson Luis Rafael Montoya III (36).

She leaves behind a legacy of love and faith cherished by her surviving children: Diana (John) Torres, Hortencia Lopez, Frank (Betty) Lopez, Luis (Lupe) Montoya Jr, and Betty Naranjo. Additionally, she is survived by twenty-one grandchildren, forty-three and a half great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and others who remain unaccounted for.

While we mourn her passing, we celebrate the remarkable life she lived and the profound impact she had on all who knew her. Her memory will forever be cherished in our hearts.

A funeral service for Mariana will be held Thursday, May 30, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel, 7 East University Blvd, Tucson, AZ 85705. Following the funeral service will be a committal service from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at Evergreen Cemetery 3015 N Oracle Rd, Tucson, AZ 85705.
