Maria L Rodriguez

Maria (Licha) was born in Douglas, Arizona to Jesus and Maria de la Vara on September 13, 1921. She enjoyed reading, playing dominos and card games, going to the casino to play bingo, spending time with her family and friends.

Maria is preceded in death by her husband Jacinto Rodriguez, parents Jesus and Maria de la Vara and all of her 7 brothers: Jose, Arnoldo, Raul, Ernesto, Gilbert, Alejandro, and Alfredo de la Vara. She was the youngest and only girl in the family.

Maria is survived by her children Jimmy (Frances) Rodriguez, Norma Alvarez; Angie (Louie) Cathemer, Becky Bejarano; grand-children – Denise (Cesar) Romero, Jaime (Darlene) Rodriguez, Jessica Bejarano, Grace (Erick) Baker, Correena (Chris) Lujan, Miguel (Ana) Rodriguez, Carrie (Juan Cota) Bejarano, Paul Bejarano, Anita (John) Helmkamp, Nathan Alvarez, Louie Cathemer IV, Julie (Jim) Roe & Mark (Bethany) Cathemer. Great grandchildren; Cesar Jr., Dominic, Angelo, Hannah, Diego, Gabriel, Marcos, Araceli, Maritza, Marianna, Ernest (EJ), Joeb, Alice, Bella, Makayla, Sophia, Anyiah, Anthony, Bailey, Anessa, Trenton, Lauren, Maddie, Braden, Gracie.

There will be a Celebration of Life on February 8, 2014 at the F.O.E. 180 Eagles, 1530 N. Stone Ave., Tucson, AZ from 12:00 – 4:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Condolences may be left in Maria’s online guestbook.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Heartland Hospice and Palliative Care Center and Danilo Place LLC for their support in her final days.
