Margaret "Maggie" Joanna Donaldson of Oro Valley, Arizona, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2017. She was 94 years young. Born March 24, 1923 in Baltimore, Ohio, Maggie is the oldest of 2 children raised by Arthur and Mary Donaldson.
Maggie is survived by daughter, Paula Sullivan, of Marana, Arizona, grandsons Craig Carlton, and wife Jung-A Kim, of Hollister, California and Wes Carlton, and his wife Stefanie Carlton, of Palmer Lake, Washington. Maggie also had 3 great-grandchildren, Justin Carlton, of Bakersfield, California, and Kylie Koba, and Amanda Koba, both from Hollister, California. Maggie is also survived by many friends and neighbors.
Maggie is preceded in death by her father, Arthur Donaldson, her mother, Mary Donaldson, and her brother Chuck Donaldson.
After graduating from Albany High School, Maggie joined the Navy in 1944 during World War II. Maggie spent 18 months in the Navy stationed in Washington, D.C. Maggie served as president of the Tucson WWII Waves organization and was invited and attended Honor Flight to see the National World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C.
Maggie enjoyed playing golf, traveling, walking, and having lunch with friends, and the "Navy women". Lived in Oro Valley for most on the last 23 years, Maggie also lived in Sarasota, Florida, St. Croix, Virgin Islands, and San Antonio, Texas.
A memorial service for Maggie will be held September 14, 2017 at 11:00 am. Arrangements are under the direction of East Lawn Palms Mortuary, 5801 East Grant Road, Tucson, Arizona 85712.
