She is survived by her husband, William Davenport, and her two children Patricia Davenport and George Davenport. She is also survived by her three sisters, Janet, Joan, and Sue.
Margaret was born on March 15, 1936, in Blue River British Columbia Canada to George and Norah Hanington.
She grew up in the Okanagan Valley and Victoria, British Columbia. After attending the University of British Columbia and graduating from Normal School in Victoria, British Columbia, she worked as a 2nd grade schoolteacher's in Trail British Columbia. In Trail, she met William Davenport. In 1958, Margaret and William were married in Osoyoos, British Columbia.
After being married, she moved initially to Buffalo, New York and then on to London England. While in London, she had her first child, Patricia, in 1964. In 1965, she moved to Montreal, Quebec, Canada, where she had her second child, George, in 1965. While in Montreal, she continued working as a substitute teacher.
In 1981, Margaret and her family all moved to Tucson, AZ, moving into a home on 3rd Street, in the Sam Hughes Historical neighborhood. In 1994, Margaret and Bill bought and renovated the house next door, where she lived until her passing. She was known for her colorful house and yard, filled with vibrant yellows, oranges, and reds. She loved working in her garden and made numerous friends while she was out watering the front yards. Margaret was an avid traveler, and along with her husband William, travelled extensively around the world, with numerous trips to Europe, Africa, Australia and South America, as well as trips all across Canada and the United States of America.
A memorial service for Margaret will be held Monday, March 13, 2023, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at East Lawn Palms Mortuary, 5801 East Grant Road, Tucson, AZ 85712.
