The birth of Lorenzo Lopez-Hernandez was registered on September 10, 1954 in Tlacolula, Oaxaca. He was raised in Santiago Matatlan, Oaxaca, where he attended elementary school and helped his father in the fields and with the animals. At age 12, he went to work for an uncle, Ricardo. He worked in the fields, factories, and later as a truck driver and salesman.
In his late teens, some missionaries began holding a Bible study in his uncle’s home, and Lorenzo gave his life to the Lord. He taught himself how to play the guitar and used his talent to lead worship and singing. In the summer of 1981, he met his future wife, Diann, while leading singing for Vacation Bible School.
They married in January of 1982 in Virginia, where DIann was living and working. They returned to Matatlan for about a year. When their first child was soon to be born, they went to live in Minnesota near Diann’s family. Lorenzo worked for a brother-in-law, working in the fields, milking cows, and working in a mechanic shop.
Their first child Angelica, was stillborn in July of 1983. They soon were expecting another child, Anita, who was born in September of 1984. In 1985, they moved to Arizona, where Lorenzo worked a variety of jobs, earned his GED, and became a massage therapist through Desert Institute of Healing Arts. His longest and final job was driving for Sun Van where he worked for over 12 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching boxing, painting landscapes, playing his guitar, singing, and spending time with family.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Angelica, his brother Alberto, his mother Sixta, and his father Estanislao, as well as his uncle Ricardo, and cousin Ricardo. He is survived by his wife Diann, his daughter Anita, his son-in-law Joseluis Moreno, and four grandchildren, Syannette, Joseluis D., Nicolas, and Maximus, all of whom he loved dearly. He is also survived by four siblings, Teresa, Cristina, Juan and Ricardo, brothers and sisters-in-law, cousins, and numerous nieces and nephews whom he cherished and loved.

Se crió en Santiago Matatlan, Oaxaca, donde asistió a la escuela primaria y ayudó a su padre en el campo y con los animales. A los 12 años, se fue a trabajar para su tío, Ricardo. Cuando estaban esperando a su primer hijo, se fueron a vivir en Minnesota cerca de la familia de Diana. Lorenzo trabajaba para un cuñado, trabajaba en el campo, ordeñaba vacas y trabajaba en un taller mecánico.
Su primera hija, Angélica, nació muerta en Julio de 1983. Pronto estaban esperando otra hija, Anita, que nació en Septiembre de 1984. En 1985, se mudaron a Arizona, donde Lorenzo trabajó en una variedad de trabajos, obtuvo su GED y se graduó de el Desert Institute of Healing Arts como masajista. Su último trabajo fue trabajar para Sun Van como conductor donde trabajó más de 12 años. En su tiempo libre, le gustaba ver boxeo, pintar paisajes, tocar su guitarra, cantar, y pasar tiempo con la familia.
Le anteceden en la muerte su hija Angélica, su hermano Alberto, su madre Sixta y su padre Estanislao, y tambien su tío Ricardo y su primo Ricardo. Le sobreviven su esposa Diana, su hija Anita, su yerno Joseluis y cuatro nietos, Syannette, Joseluis D., Nicolas y Maximus, a quienes amaba mucho. También le sobreviven cuatro hermanos, Teresa, Cristina, Juan y Ricardo, cuñados, numerosos sobrinos, y primos a quienes apreciaba y amaba.
