Laurence C. Ruhf “Larry” died from a long illness in Lake city, MI. at the age of 71. Larry is survived by his wife, Sandra (Belen) Ruhf; children, Melissa (John) Blanchard, Wendy Grogan, Christopher (Andrea) Ruhf, Laurence (Yetive) Ruhf; grandchildren, Ashleigh and Connor Grogan, Ted, Vanessa and Samantha Blanchard, Alexandra, Arya, Oliver, Penelope, Lucy, Gwen, Dorothy Ruhf and also survived by his sisters, Lorene Bouchard, Lois Taylor and Le Craven. He was so proud of each and every one of them. Larry was born on August 13, 1944, to Laurence and Lucile (Hoisington) Ruhf. He graduated from J.W. Sexton High School, Lansing, MI., in 1962. Larry was a true athlete during this time, achieving many awards in wrestling and football. He joined the military branch of the Marines in 1963. After serving honorably for four years, he came back to Lansing, MI, and obtained an Associate’s Degree in Machining. He married Sandra in 1972 in Lansing MI. Larry worked for many companies, lastly Raytheon Missile System, Tucson, AZ for over 30 years. He retired in 2015. His wife and he moved back to Michigan to his favorite lake, Lake Missaukee. Larry enjoyed fishing, hunting and golfing. His passion though, was coaching AYSO and PCJSL and volunteering as a football coach for TUSD for many years. A memorial service will be May 21, 2016 at East Lawn Palms Mortuary, Tucson, AZ with a reception to follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Larry’s Life. The family would like to thank the Hospice Association through Munson Hospital, Cadillac, MI for your support and care you gave Larry. Also, Arizona Oncology, Tucson, AZ, who initially treated him.
