I light a candle to remember Kathy. For as long as we live, so will Kathy.

I often think of Kathy and our days at UOPX. I hope that wherever she landed, her soul knows how deeply she influenced so many practitioners in healthcare. May she be of blessed memory always.

Kathy, I will miss you. You always had so many happy stories to tell.  Dedicated to nursing and teaching and hardly ever taking time out for yourself.  I was so sad to hear when Kathy passed as several months had passed since she and I had spoken.  Chuck, I wish you my deepest sympathy for your loss.  Kathy was not family but it really didn't matter who you were, she treated everyone like family.  To my fellow Michigander and rival college sports fan,  I know you are cheering for U of M.  God Bless...

Kathy  was initially a co-worker who became dear friend.  She was kind, creative and dedicated to nurses and nursing education. I will always have fond memories but will miss being able to talk with her.
My heart goes out to Chuck and the rest of the family.  She will be greatly missed.
RIP Kathy. 

Kathy was my instructor for possibly her last NP class at University of Phoenix. August of 2019, She was on Fire for pediatrics. That woman had energy for days! I found out during our class that she lived Literally right down the street from me. Like, 5 houses!  It was very unfortunate that during school and working and all the life stuff that happens when you're "busy" I never had the extra time to swing on by and see how she and Chuck were  doing. The last I talked/texted her she was in the hospital and not , "doing well." My heart sank. I drive by her house now and wave. I have graduated and have a great new family nurse practitioner career. I saw my first newborn patient yesterday. And BY golly I knew all of the newborn reflexes I was supposed to check, thanks to Kathy and the presentation I had to do in her class!! 

Chuck has been a life-long friend from our high school days, Chuck had plenty of girl friends and earlier in his life married a pretty girl from our group of friends. It was a good solid relationship that ended suddenly with her death. We watched Chuck flounder and dive deep into his career. Our happy day was when we received a call from Chuck that he wanted us to meet Cathy. We immediately knew that she was the right girl for Chuck . Their life together has been a blessing for both. Our prayer is that Chuck can go forward and heal from the loss of Cathy and that she will patiently wait for Chuck, in the kingdom of heaven, and that they can one day be together forever .

Kathy was one of my Instructors at the University of Phoenix FNP program. She was always encouraging students, she was happy to share her stories of how nursing and healthcare had changed over the years.

A graduate of University of Phoenix 2017. There’s several special memories of some quiet times a few words spoken that meant so much to me. Rest In Peace. 

Kathy was a mentor as well as faculty leader to me. I admired her mission and dedication to teaching as well as helping her young patients. I will miss her greatly. 

Kathy was such a special person to me. She was my teacher, my colleague and a friend. She always had so much faith in my abilities, even more then I sometimes had in myself.  My favorite memory of her is when she mentioned to one of my previous instructors that I was in the FNP program and the previous instructor mentioned how I was a "so so student", I never saw her so mad, I felt I had to calm her down.  She will always be a special person in my life and someone who always gave me great advice. I will forever be grateful to her.

Kathy was a caring person whom one could obviously see her true love was for children.  As a nurse practitioner student, I can appreciate her wisdom, knowledge and putting together a great team of instructors for us.  I am sorry for your loss. RIP Kathy and may you be surrounded in angels and God's grace. 

Kathy was a wonderful coworker. She was dedicated to the nursing department and worked tirelessly to ensure that her students learned and were successful. She was very helpful to me when the Health Care Administration degree program was placed in the Humanities and Sciences department and I had the good fortune to run it. We shared the nursing faculty -- who are the GREATEST people -- so that I had faculty to teach those subjects!  Kathy had a fun sense of humor and always went along with all the "wild" things that we did in Academic Affairs.  And we did a lot of them! This "picture" created in 2009 is evidence of her sense of humor.  

I am very sorry that she is no longer with us. She really made a positive difference in so many lives.

I work in a busy family practice clinic now . Half my days are WWKD patients. What would Kathy do? I bet she is responsible for 75% of the NPs practicing in Tucson right now.

In December of 1992 we moved across the street to Kathy & Chuck Watson.  We had found new neighbors and life long friends! Kathy and Chuck were ALWAYS helping us in so many ways. Our children grew up with Kathy & Chuck. They both ran to their house when “meanie” mom made them clean their rooms. Kathy & Chuck always made our children feel safe & welcome. Kathy was their personal doctor, they only wanted Kathy, no one else would do. We all LOVE and miss you. Glenn, Bessie, RJ & Jeneca Hoffman

Wow what a great loss to the NP community! Prayers to her family. Kathy was a great mentor and never faltered when asked a question. Kathy was the first person I met when starting NP classes and was the first one to congratulate me and wish me well in my future endeavors.  May she Rest In Peace!
