Karla Ann Iverson

On Saturday, November 3rd, 2018 our beloved Karla Ann Iverson (Gutierrez) passed away at her home, here in Tucson, Arizona. Karla was the first born child to Charles and Denise Gutierrez. She was born on October 31st, 1972 in her maternal family’s home town of Chicago, Illinois.

After living a short time in Illinois and in her paternal family’s country of Nicaragua, Karla moved to Tucson, Arizona, where she remained during her journey through life.

Growing up, Karla lovingly helped care for her 2 younger brothers. She was a huge Chicago Cubs fan, she loved music and loved to craft, stamp and sew, all of which followed her through adulthood. She was always making gifts for coworkers, family and friends.

Karla attended Tanque Verde Elementary, Emily Gray Junior High and graduated from Sabino High School and Pima Medical Institute, where she proudly obtained her Medical Assistant certificate.

Karla’s proudest moment was becoming a mother to her one and only beautiful daughter, Heidi Iverson. She loved being a mom and was so proud of the wonderful woman Heidi grew up to be.

Karla had a huge heart. She was loving, and kind, she was always there for you and would help anytime you needed her. She was there to listen, she was there to give advice and there to be a shoulder to cry on. Most of all she was a great sister, mother, daughter, granddaughter, niece, cousin, and friend. My sister touched a lot of people’s lives. We are going to miss her so much!

Karla is survived by her daughter Heidi Iverson; her brother Daniel (Candee) Gutierrez; two nephews Hayden and Charles Gutierrez; her brother Jim (Chris) Gutierrez; Her grandmother Lorraine Heft; her Aunt Rhonda (Ron) Hageft; her cousins Sherissa Hageft and Hunter Foster, Brett Hageft, Ana and Sam Marin and so many other Aunts, Uncles, cousins, extended family and friends throughout the United States and Nicaragua.

She is preceded in death by her mother; Denise Gutierrez; her father Charles Gutierrez; and her grandfather Richard Heft.

A gathering to say goodbye will be held at 11 AM on, Friday, November 16th, 2018 at East Lawn Palms Mortuary 5801 E. Grant Rd, Tucson, AZ 85712.
