Judy Ann Walkup

Beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and friend, Judy Walkup passed peacefully to heaven on November 18, 2012. Born Judith Ann McDaniel in Springfield, OH she moved to Tucson in 1957 with her mother, the late Cleo Waln, and her father, James “Jay” Waln. Judy graduated from Rincon High School, went on to receive her nursing degree and was a labor and delivery nurse for 27 years, a career she cherished. Judy nurtured everything she touched, from her beautiful garden to newborn babies and their mothers to her family, friends and neighbors. She is survived by her loving husband, Kin Walkup of Tucson; five sons, Scott MacVittie of Stockton, CA, Jeffrey MacVittie of Los Angeles, CA, Les Walkup of Stockton, CA, Walt Walkup of Elk Grove, CA, Robert Walkup of Stockton, CA; one daughter, Lisa Walkup of Lancaster, OH; her father, James “Jay” Waln, and her brother, James Waln (Clara), both of Tucson; ten grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Gracefully living life to the fullest, Judy was an inspiration and will be dearly missed. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, November 30, 2012 at Christ Presbyterian Church, 6565 E. Broadway at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Judy’s name to the University of Arizona Foundation/UA Cancer Center at 1515 N. Campbell Ave., P.O. Box 245013, Tucson, AZ, 85724.
