Judith Delligatti 75, of Tucson, AZ, passed away July 20, 2011. Born Judith Audrey Ellsworth on September 27, 1935 in San Diego, CA, she was the second child of Gene Edward Ellsworth, a Chief Warrant Officer in the U.S. Navy and Rose Audrey Ellsworth (nee Gerrard), a homemaker and artist. Her confident and older sister was Shirley. Eighteen years later, her father retired from the Navy and his work with Hughes Aircraft led their family to Tucson. While studying at the University of Arizona, Judith was introduced to a young airman at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Francis Eugene "Geno" Delligatti, the youngest son of Italian immigrants. They married in 1953 and raised four children together while operating a retail, television and radio business. After briefly working for KCUB radio, Judith became a licensed realtor in 1970. Once becoming successful brokers for Tucson Realty and Trust, Judith and Geno established their own prosperous real estate agency, Arizona Investment Company. Judith was active, serving on several boards for the Tucson Board of Realtors and the Arizona Association of Realtors. Geno and Judith divorced in 1982. She retired from real estate in 1984. Later, Judith was interested in recovery counseling and received an Associate of Applied Sciences. She worked with TCADD, Pima County Adult Probation, and CODAC Behavioral Health. In 1986, she met Paul Tricou, with whom she enjoyed a wonderful relationship filled with love and travel for more than a decade. As she neared completing a Bachelor of Science degree, his health began to fail and she focused on caring for her beloved. After Paul Tricou's death in 2002, Judith retired and took up quilt making. She immensely enjoyed making beautiful quilts for others. This was in spite of arthritis, which eventually made it difficult for her to continue. As the severity of her maladies increased Judith became less able to do the things she loved, but she endured without complaint. Judith is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Delligatti; three sons, Paul Delligatti (Sandy), Daniel Delligatti (Lisa) and Richard Delligatti; five grandsons, Ryan Brown (Lauren), Charles, Michael, Daniel Jr. and Dominic; four granddaughters, Valerie, Adrianna, Angelica and Sofia; a great-granddaughter, Londyn Brown; a niece, Lynn Gallagher and a nephew, Joseph Gallagher, Jr. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Shirley Gallagher. A Memorial Service and inurnment will be held at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY & CEMETERY, 5801 E. Grant Rd. on Thursday, August 18, 2011 at 10:00 a.m.
